Does My Child Need Batting Gloves?

Does My Child Need Batting Gloves?

At the younger age groups many parent often ask, “Does my child need batting gloves?”. The answer to this question is No. However there is a time that I recommend getting batting gloves. Batting gloves do have their benefits that make them worth having.

Vibration Resistance

One significant advantage of batting gloves is their vibration resistance. This can be a big deal for young players, whose hands hurt from the vibration of the bat. It can also be important for players that take lots of reps, as batting gloves will greatly reduce the soreness of your hands long-term. As pitchers also start throwing harder, batters will start to feel more vibration on balls that aren’t hit on the sweet-spot. This makes the vibration resistance aspect of batting gloves incredibly important.

Improved Grip

Another profound advantage of batting gloves is their improved grip. Most batting gloves will feature silicone or rubber grips, which provide a better grip for the batter. Batting gloves also give you the option of using pine tar, which is an amazing product to increase grip. The improved grip that batting gloves offer, make them a very worth while purchase.

Sliding Protection

When players get into the older age groups they will begin to slide more and more. Some players opt for a sliding mitt, but most players tend to use their batting gloves. Batting gloves offer a much needed protection from the ground, which will spare your child much pain in the long run. I would absolutely recommend having some sort of protection from the ground friction. This makes batting gloves incredibly useful.
